How do you wear a pumping bra?

Wearing a pumping bra is a bit different from wearing a regular bra because it's designed to hold the breast pump flanges in place, allowing you to pump hands-free. Make sure your pumping bra fits snugly but comfortably. The bra should have openings or slits where the breast pump flanges (the part that goes over your nipples) can be inserted. Start by removing any regular nursing or non-pumping bras you are wearing. If you're using a nursing bra with pumping features, you may just fold down the cups.
Once you have the bra on, insert the breast pump flanges into the openings or slits in the bra. Each flange should go over your breast, with the nipple centered inside the flange to ensure good suction and prevent discomfort. If your bra doesn’t have pre-made slits, some designs allow you to unzip or fold down the front to hold the flanges. Make sure the flanges are properly placed, and your nipples are centered in the flange. Adjust the bra so it holds the flanges securely in place. The bra should be tight enough to support the flanges without them slipping, but not so tight that it causes discomfort or restricts milk flow.
Once the flanges are securely held in place by the bra, connect the tubing from the pump to the flanges. Make sure everything is connected properly before turning on the pump. Turn on your pump and adjust the suction level to a comfortable setting. With the pumping bra holding the flanges in place, your hands will be free, so you can relax, read, or do other tasks while you pump. Once you've finished, turn off the pump, disconnect the tubing, and carefully remove the flanges from the bra. You can then take off the bra or switch back to a regular nursing bra. By keeping the flanges stable, a pumping bra allows you to pump efficiently while staying hands-free.
